Through an innovative process and new thinking about resource use, Big Akwa creates opportunities to create, through industrial symbiosis, the sharing of residual flows such as low-value heat, nutrient flows and oxygen between an existing process industry, such as a paper pulp mill or some other industry.

Big Akwa's vision is to reduce the climate footprint of aquaculture production systems and be part of the green transition. Farmed fish and seafood generate a lower carbon footprint than land-based animal production. It plays an important role as an alternative source of protein for a sustainable food system and food security globally.
