Cleantech City Day

This year’s Cleantech City Day, hosted in the beautiful city of Lund in the south of Sweden will focus on cities and the cleantech innovations suitable for this sector.

There’s a global race among cities to become the smartest city in the world, however there is no widely accepted definition of this and it tends to cover a broad range of aspects such as smart mobility, economy, governance, environment, people and living. Cleantech further has a central position in a smart city, both in terms of the potential the sector has to grow the economy and create jobs and the potential to make the cities more resource efficient and green. The growth of Internet of Things and the Networked society provides a great opportunity for cities to achieve this and to increase its value to its citizens.

As such, big corporates like Ericsson, E.on, Schneider Electric, Cisco, Intel, General Electric IBM, Veolia. Microsoft etc all realize the market potential and are forcefully developing strategies and products.

Adding to this we see a growing number of cleantech startups each year and more and more of them are ICT-focused and targeting cities and real estate as their main customer base.

Therefore this event will bring together cities, big corporates and cleantech startups to meet and discuss visions for future smart cities, share experiences and showcase solutions.
