The municipality of Umeå and Coompanion are arranging the first conference in the Nordics on the theme "The city as a co-owned sharing platform". Co-owned, cooperative digital platforms with focus on sustainability will be explored.
Digitalization creates opportunities for freedom of choice and development where the citizens can take part of a common offer. At the same time, we need to ask the question of who the owner will be of the digital platforms that we as users contribute to its development.
The Swedish government has noted the importance of co-owned digital sharing platforms with connection to future sustainable cities which contributed to Vinnova announcing the project, Sharing Cities Sweden which now is running in four Swedish cities, Gothenburg, Malmö, Stockholm and Umeå. Cooperative Cities Umeå is the first conference on this theme and is arranged by the municipality of Umeå and Coompanion. An arena for entrepreneurs, organizations and citizens who want to contribute to common solutions for present and future needs with focus on smart cities and sharing platforms. Above all we want to explore how we build a sustainable infrastructure with the purpose of transforming the local economy.
