The Swedish Environmental Protection Agency is now opening up the opportunity to apply for funding from the Klimatklivet for rapid projects. These investments involve purchasing specific equipment, such as replacing an oil boiler with a fossil-free alternative like a wood chip boiler or geothermal heating.
The projects supported by the Klimatklivet usually span several years. Many of the climate investments are larger projects that involve building and installing facilities or converting industrial processes. The Klimatklivet's authorization framework is being reduced, which has affected the ability to currently provide funds for such larger projects.
There are also smaller and quicker projects, such as investments involving the purchase of specific equipment, for example, replacing an oil boiler with a fossil-free alternative like a wood chip boiler or geothermal heating, or electrifying within agriculture.
Klimatklivet's Application Period for Rapid Projects 2025
Applications for quick projects: January 17–24, 2025
This applies to projects that can be finalized by the end of September. For example, it could involve replacing heating systems powered by oil or natural gas with renewable solutions such as district heating, biofuel boilers, or heat pumps. It could also involve investments in climate-smart agriculture, such as electrifying irrigation and fertilizer pumps, as well as machinery for manure spreading and feeding.
