Crown princess Victoria's message to the world “this is our only choice”

Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden is one of the Advocates of the UN Sustainability Development Goals 2030 (SDG). On the 19th of April The Crown Princess gave the opening speech at a conference on the UN SDG hosted by the United Nations University in Tokyo.

Crown Princess Victoria is driving change where countries work and strive together towards sustainable development and growth for the next generations.

During a 4 days conference in Japan, Crown Princess Victoria gave the opening speech where she stated that we must act based in accordance with our knowledge and understanding, which means that we need to do everything we can to achieve the Sustainable development agenda.

The Crown Princess encouraged consumers to react actively by stating that consumers have the power. Consumers have the right to know what they buy and a duty to ask. Together the consumers have the power to make a change for the future of our children and our planet.

She rounded the speech with following words: "This is not only our obligation; it is our only option." 

The conference was linked to the coming UN Ocean Conference to be held in New York in June.
