During EnergyWeek in Vaasa, Northvolt was named the winner of the Energy & Innovation Award. Northvolt from Sweden was nominated for their work with the greenest battery factory in the world. Besides Northvolt, Akkurate Oy (Finland), AES Tietê & CERTI Foundation (Brazil), PSR (Brazil), DCX (Poland) and Johanneberg Science Park (Sweden) was nominated.
The price was given to the most interesting, impactful and innovative energy cases in the world. After company presentations, Northvolt was named the jury's winner of this years Energy & Innovation Award.
CEO, Peter Carlsson received the news through telephone since he unfortunately could not be present in Vaasa, but he expressed great appreciation for winning this price. Bengt Ivansson from the Municipality of Skellefteå received the price in his place.
