Original Creation Receives Additional One Million from Prestigious Innovation Program

Original Creation in Umeå, a deep tech company specializing in traceability systems for manufacturing companies, has received continued funding from the Innovation and Research Program Advanced Digitalization, which is supported by ABB, Ericsson, SAAB, Teknikföretagen, and Vinnova

The program aims to drive the future of advanced, sustainable digital solutions to increase the competitiveness of Swedish industry, ensuring that Sweden maintains its edge in both research and development of next-generation digital solutions. During the years 2023–2027, the program will encompass approximately 4.5 billion SEK.

“We are extremely proud and grateful. This allows us to quickly proceed with the validation of both the technical and commercial aspects of our platform,” says Linnea Brännström, CEO and founder.

Original Creation is developing a solution that thousands of manufacturing companies within the EU may soon need.

In 2024, the EU regulation ESPR is expected to be adopted. With this, the EU aims to make sustainable products the norm in the EU internal market and reduce the environmental impact of products throughout their entire lifecycle. This will include requirements for so-called digital product passports. These passports, which will provide information about the actual origin of products, complete material content, and climate footprint, will apply to almost all products manufactured, sold, and used within Europe.

Original Creation’s solution is a platform for reliable traceability, from extraction to recycling. Blockchain is part of the technology.

“The daily operational processes in the various industries that will be covered by the legal requirements differ significantly. Original Creation’s platform is adapted to meet the conditions in all industry affiliations,” says Linnea.

Original Creation receives 1 million SEK from the Advanced Digitalization program to test and evaluate the technical solution’s capacity in real environments. This will be done through pilot projects where the product owner gets the opportunity to test the platform and provide input on features and user-friendliness. The company is interested in getting in touch with companies that want to start their traceability journey.
